I don’t know how many of you out there decided to partake in shopping the day after Thanksgiving, but in my family it’s tradition.
(And you don’t mess with tradition)
So Dad and I got up at 3 am. (I’ve never been sure if there was such a time, but alas there is.) And went off to stand in lines and wait all day.
Usually we’re standing in lines outside of stores waiting to get in and then we stand in lines to check out and usually there is a line to wait in for breakfast when that time comes around.
This year though, was a little different, oh we still stood in lines to get into stores and we stood in lines to check out, and we stood in a line to get a table for breakfast, but the difference was that the lines were short. The longest line we waited in was to get a table for breakfast. We never waited more than 15 minutes to check out.
With stores opening earlier and the economy the way it is, I guess I really shouldn’t be as surprised as I am. (and yet I still am)
There are always a few things we end up getting whether we need them or not, but mostly we go and take part in all the madness to watch people and because it’s tradition. (and we just don’t mess with tradition.)
