Sensations of Romance

Arms around me in a warm embrace
I wish never to leave this place
for here I find such comfort and love
feelings that come only from above.

Right beside you is where I belong
Cuddling into your arms so strong
next to you is where I long to stay
in your arms I yearn to be each day.

When I’m with you my heart starts to spin
from your gentle touch upon my skin
each sensation I yearn more for you
with a passion so deep and true.

Another Year

And so the end
is drawing near
with joy and sorrow
we complete our year.
We’re made it through
bliss and strife
stress filled weeks
seemed to be our life.
With each other
we found our way
through the tests and papers
we had due everyday.
Clinical days
we had such fun
caring for patients
the old and the young
The units we conquored
three weeks in a row
then off we’d be sent
to new floors we’d go!
In our books and packets
neon colors woud glow
to the library we’d head
all our notes in tow.
Late nights and early mornings
we often would see
with deadlines approaching
with our books we’d be.
Even with all the work
fun is vital too
balance is important
in making it through.
Saturday night
put down the pen
get all dressed up
and go dancing again.
As the year comes to an end
we see how far we’ve come
so many memories we made
realize just who you’ve become!
We’rs on our way
great nurses we’ll be
because of our profs
who pushed us to succeed.

Heartbreak

My heart is broken
neatly in two
should it heal
only time will tell.
I loved you once and lost
only to repeat my fate
will another come along
to mend my weary state
should I ever love another
for you alone I see
from this bondage of despair
I long to be set free.
To hold you in my arms
is my hearts desire true
but forever my love
my heart must bid you adieu
forever you’ll remain in my heart
left to be solely friends
but you my love-
I’ll love you til the end.

Destiny

What brought us together,
you and I?
was it just by chance
you caught my eye?
Did destiny have a hand
in guiding our fate?
With patience my love
we must wait.

No a moment to soon
we found each other
gazing silently.
Each moment leading to another
passion soaring out of sight.
In this place
we’re sure to find
each other in a warm embrace.

Is it right
to turn away
from destiny
who’s sure to stay
and guide us
to one anothers arms?
For I know,
I can’t resist your charms.

True Love (In a Whisper)

Can you feel the beat of my heart,
even thought we’re miles apart?
Can you feel my loving embrace,
even though I’m miles from this place?
Can you taste my lips so sweet,
even though I can’t walk down your street?
Can you hear me whisper my love so true,
in words that are meant for only you?

Do you long to hold me near?
For losing me you shouldn’t fear.
Do you long to feel my gentle touch,
never to break free from my clutch?
Do you long for my fregrance so sweet,
as my lips gently tickle your cheek?
Do you long for me to cling to you,
as I whisper words of love so true?

Are you wondering how
two can be so in love right now?
Are your thoughts carried away,
to be with me today?
Our passion that continues to build
as our hearts continue to be filled
it’s you alone I long to greet,
with words whispered soft and sweet.

Tapestry

Why write the words
when they just sounds wrong
deep down I know
right where I belong
to the truth I’ll cling tight
please understand
how I suffer tonight
the pain I feel
comes from within
this game, I alone can win

A tangled web is woven
a tapetry of life
each person is connected
through everyday of bliss and strife
with every interaction
we become more complete
through the intricate weaving
of each new thread.

Graduation

We stepped through the doors
our heads filled with dreams
of homecoming court
and Prom King and Queen;
of becoming a star
for each respective team
of playing the lead in the all school play.
We walked through these halls
just trying to get by each day
of classes and break-ups
nervously awaiting each grade.
We’ve walked these halls for four years.
We’ve grown as a class
through tragedy and bliss.
Our dreams have changed
to college and careers,
of doctors and lawyers and broadway stars.
Now for the last time
we walk through those doors
to a new world
of opportunity, excitement, and adventure
To put to use what we’ve learned
within these walls.

Outside these Walls

You pick up the paper
You turn on the news
War in the Middle East
Hundreds have died
An earthquake in India
The death toll is on the rise
Each with a family
Mourning the loved ones lost
We sit in our air conditioned homes
Watching TV
While some kids in Africa
Just died from HIV
A girl just lost her virginity
She wanted some money
To feed her brother
Who goes to work
To pay the rent
He’s only twelve
With no education
We take forgranted
What we have in our lives
The opportunities
The freedoms
The laws we must abide
The chance for an education
After we finish high school
The love we get
From our parents
Who provide for us
The things we need
The protection from our government
Not being afraid of persecution
For praising the one who gave us life.

The Art of Music

The baton moves swiftly
Feet tap, tap, tap, in unison
Working together we are one
A well oiled machine
Growing and falling gracefully in time
Together we make the music come alive
Emotion is for what we strive
Carefully we tune each pitch
Stringing together each phrase
No one plays alone
Until the solo lark flies
And the composition is complete.

Survival

The sun sinks lower
over the snow covered trees
silence surrounds the soul
stop and listen
to the constant pulse
beat by beat
we will survive
no matter what lies ahead
confusion infests the corners of your mind
turn away from life
and find what you know
pull away from the meaning of it all
but find a pulse and see
that nothing can take you away
from the battles you’ve already won.
